Alaska Honeyberry Farm
A Permaculture Farmstead in Homer, Alaska
Welcome to Alaska Honeyberry Farm
A Holistic Food Forest Farm focusing on two specific northern super-berries, the Haskap-Honeyberry and Saskatoon berry.
Alaska Honeyberry Farm was created from years spent dreaming of having a small and sustainable farmstead and food forest based on regenerative, holistic and permaculture principles. While taking a class on Permaculture, which happened to based here in Homer, Alaska, I found the farming community I’d been searching for. Studying Alaskas food market and Agriculture scene solidified the plan. Viewing our starting years as a test orchard and farm, the future northern super berry farm
first Haskap-Honeyberry orchard was planted in 2021 after a rough start. Orchard #2 was planted in 2022, and we expect Orchard 3 and 4 and a full harvest is expected As the farm grows and harvests increase, our goals are to support the needs of our family, community and eventually the state with berries, cultivars, products, education and more.
Our operational intention is based on long term soil health by using holistic permaculture practices, insect/pollinator support, and growing climate specific species that have a low impact on the environment and a high output of nutrient dense food in the traditions of our ancestors.
While awaiting and preparing for our first commercial harvest, we will be planting more species of Honeyberry and Saskatoon until the orchards are at capacity. Our annual garden is getting enclosed to increase protection and production, and we will continue to build infrastructure for the storage and processing of the berries which will include a certified DEC kitchen for commercial product production.
We are on track to have our first commercial berry crop available Summer of 2024.

We will update and add products as they become available.
